Some behavioral signs and
effects of neglect
|
|
|
Neglected children may show symptoms of withdrawal or extreme
shyness, overactive/aggressive behavior, poor self-image,
troublesome behavior in school, being sleepy or distracted, crying
easily, or irritability.
Infants and toddlers who are neglected tend to respond to other people poorly, fail to develop normally and may have habit disorders such as sucking, head banging, or rocking. |

"These are children that in general tend to have a very poor
self-image and show signs of being under some stress."
